Hi I'm Laura
PHOTOGRAPHER, AUTHOR & ARTIST
I like think of PostModern like a cozy corner in a coffee shop that nobody really knows about and where everyone is welcome. It’s the kind of place where you order a beverage you've never tried before and none of the chairs match, but it has a small fireplace for every kind of warmth.
I wait impatiently for friends to arrive. They're late, but that's okay. Everyone is busy and tired. We’re all doing our best to get together these days through dizzying doom-scrolling, tricky algorithms designed to keep us apart and life in general.
One by one, however, my kindred spirits (aka people like you!) start turning up, feeling called back to the quiet contentment of words on paper that can be held onto and carried around for comfort. The letters and cards start pouring out, sharing stories that uplift, inspire and motivate you to keep going with your big creative dreams! Best of all, together we rediscover a point of real human connection that inspires us to dream again and believe in our own creative pursuits.
My hope is that stepping into this "coffee shop corner" feels fun and freeing for you, like a bit of friendly, supportive chatter to look forward to every month. Being a creative is hard. PostModern snail mail will offer a motivational boost with tangible actions and strategies to help you keep building forward -- whether you're working on a business, a book, a product, a garden, a podcast, a shop or anything else you can't stop dreaming about!
What will be talked about? All sorts of things! Creative living, food moments, plants, dogs, wins, losses, and all the in-between stuff that often ends up being the most interesting part of any story and the best fuel for any creative project.
Thank you for being here! I can't wait to write to you!
